The nature park of Dolasila

Established in 1980, the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park is an extensive protected area of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, covering more than 25,000 hectares.
It is one of the largest and most impressive natural parks in South Tyrol.

Renowned as one of the true scenic gems of the Dolomites, the park captivates visitors with its remarkable diversity of landscapes: dramatic rock faces, vast plateaus, lush alpine meadows and spectacular routes for hiking, trekking and climbing. Iconic trails such as the Alta Via 1 and the historic Peace Trail cross this extraordinary region.

The plateaus of Sennes, Braies and Fanes form a natural amphitheatre rich in springs and mountain streams. The Fanes plateau in particular enchants with its alpine lakes, including Lè Vërt and Lè de Limo, whose striking turquoise-green colours leave a lasting impression.

This extraordinary environment is framed by some of the most renowned peaks of the Dolomites, including Sas dla Crusc, Lavarella, Conturines, Sas dales Nü and Sas dla Porta—an ideal destination for those seeking an authentic alpine experience surrounded by unspoilt nature.

The incomparable beauty of this landscape has inspired many Ladin legends, most notably the tale of the Kingdom of Fanes, which tells the story of the legendary warrior princess Dolasilla, a symbolic figure deeply connected to this land.
